After eight years near the Czech–German border, the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) is preparing for one of the most significant transitions in its history. Beginning in 2026, the prestigious European festival will relocate to the heart of Prague, with the iconic Hilton Prague serving as its new home in partnership with King’s Casino Prague.
But the venue change is only part of the story.
For the first time ever, WSOPE will move from its traditional autumn slot to the spring calendar. The 2026 edition is scheduled to run from March 31 to April 12, delivering 13 consecutive days of action and awarding 15 coveted gold bracelets. The shift signals more than a logistical adjustment – it represents a strategic repositioning of the brand within the global poker landscape.
A Strategic Move to Prague
Prague is no stranger to world-class poker. The city has long established itself as one of Europe’s premier destinations for major tournament series, regularly hosting marquee stops such as EPT Prague. With strong international flight connections, a vibrant city center, and a proven track record of large-scale events, the Czech capital offers both accessibility and prestige.
Relocating WSOPE to Prague elevates the festival’s profile and places it on one of the continent’s most recognized poker stages. Hosting the series at Hilton Prague – a venue known for accommodating major international events – provides the scale and infrastructure necessary to support continued growth.
A New Position in the Poker Calendar
Traditionally held in the autumn, WSOPE often competed for attention within a crowded European schedule. The move to spring creates a fresh rhythm for the series and opens new opportunities.
Positioned just months before the summer edition of the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, the new timing allows players to integrate WSOPE more naturally into their annual schedules. It also reduces overlap with other major fall festivals, potentially increasing international participation.
WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart described the relocation as “an exciting new beginning,” underscoring the ambition to further elevate the European edition within the global poker hierarchy.

While the full schedule details are yet to be released, the 2026 series will feature 15 gold bracelet events across a 13-day span. A diverse mix of No-Limit Hold’em, Pot-Limit Omaha, and high-roller tournaments is expected, maintaining the competitive depth that defines the WSOP brand worldwide.
Online qualification pathways will be available via GGPoker, including satellites through WSOP Express, ensuring broad accessibility for players across Europe and beyond.
